Who we are
Founded May 2020
Welcome! GRID DC is a real estate investment community based in Washington, DC—built by investors for investors. We are a group of real people doing real deals in our local marketplace.
Our core mission is to connect to, learn from, and collaborate with like-minded people interested in growing their businesses and creating long-term wealth.
We welcome investors of all experience levels. We are life-long learners and believe everyone has value to share.
How it works
We meet once a month, 12 months a year, on the same day, week, and time of the month.
Each month we cover a different investing topic in the lifecycle of an investor—ranging from wholesaling to rehabbing to becoming a bank through private lending.
Our meetings are not sales pitches.
They are opportunities for us to dive deep into a real estate topic, connect with local experts in our marketplace, and build long-term relationships with other doers.

About Carlos
I practiced law for 12 years, started investing in rental properties in 1996, and have a portfolio of rental properties that now exceeds $10,000,000 in value and approximately $4,500,000 in equity.
I have been investing in real estate since 1997. I have become an active investor in many other areas as well, which informs my perspective.
As a result of my interest in real estate investing, I’ve had to broaden my perspective about all of the various investment options and vehicles that exist. This knowledge and perspective provide a basis for comparison when discussing real estate investment options with clients who might consider a wide range of investments. It is important to be able to speak to someone about other options that they could consider, from my own experience. For example, I have invested in equities, start-up companies, whole life insurance, 401(k)s, IRAs, 529s, etc.
