Who we are
Welcome! GRID Birmingham is a real estate investment community-based in Birmingham, AL—built by investors for investors. We are a group of real people doing real deals in our local marketplace.
Our core mission is to connect to, learn from, and collaborate with like-minded people interested in growing their businesses and creating long-term wealth.
We welcome investors of all experience levels. We are life-long learners and believe everyone has value to share.
How it works
We meet once a month, 12 months a year, on the same day, week, and time of the month.
Each month we cover a different investing topic in the lifecycle of an investor—ranging from wholesaling to rehabbing to becoming a bank through private lending.
Our meetings are not sales pitches.
They are opportunities for us to dive deep into a real estate topic, connect with local experts in our marketplace, and build long-term relationships with other doers.

About Rob DeWald
With over 29 years of professional experience spanning real estate investment, asset management, and financial operations, I have dedicated my career to navigating the complexities of the market, uncovering opportunities, and driving growth.
Currently serving as the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at Genstone, my expertise is heavily rooted in the Single-Family Rental (SFR), distressed asset management, and Build-to-Rent (BTR) sectors. Over nearly three decades, I have built a deep foundational knowledge of finance, securities, and property lifecycle management, turning complex operational puzzles into predictable vehicles for building wealth.
Beyond my corporate and investment endeavors, my true passion lies in local advocacy and community building. I am proud to serve as the President of the Birmingham Downtown Community Alliance. This leadership role have reinforced my belief that the strongest assets we can ever build aren’t just made of brick and mortar—they are built on the foundations of trust, collaboration, and shared local vision.
Why I Lead a GRID Community: The philosophy behind the GRID Investor Network resonates deeply with my personal and professional ethos: "Relationships take you places money can't." I believe true success in real estate isn’t an individual sport; it thrives when like-minded deal-makers come together to share high-quality training, clear the noise out of the marketplace, and learn from one another as lifelong students.
As a GRID Community Leader, my mission is to transition real estate education from traditional transactional thinking into a transformational wealth-building future. I am fiercely committed to creating a high-integrity, collaborative, and action-oriented sandbox where local investors—from beginners looking to scale to seasoned operators locking down their next deal—can connect, share resources, and build generational wealth together.
About Bryan Jenkins
Bryan Jenkins is a highly accomplished and respected leader in the property management industry, currently serving as President of Genstone Property Management.
With a distinguished career spanning over two decades, Bryan brings a wealth of experience in residential property management, business development, and strategic growth.
A recognized expert in his field, Bryan holds the prestigious Master Property Manager (MPM) certification (2017) and the Residential Management Professional (RMP) certification (2014) from the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM). He is also a Short Sale Foreclosure Resource (SFR) certified by the National Association of Realtors (2010), demonstrating his comprehensive understanding of diverse real estate landscapes. Bryan is a licensed Real Estate Broker in both Alabama (2007) and Georgia (2017).
Bryan's extensive career includes 21 years as the Principal/Broker of AHI Properties, where he was instrumental in its expansion across Alabama (Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile) and Oklahoma City. Under his leadership, AHI Properties' managed portfolio grew to over 1,400 single-family homes, multi-family properties, and HOAs, including a significant percentage (17-19%) of Section 8 homes.
Following the successful sale of AHI Properties to PURE Property Management in 2021, Bryan continued to contribute his expertise as Regional Director for Alabama and Oklahoma (2021-2022) and later as Director of Institutional Relations (2022-2024) on their Institutional Management Team. Most recently, he served as the Director of Business Development for Lineage (2024-2025).
A committed advocate for the property management profession, Bryan has held numerous leadership positions within NARPM, including President of the Atlanta Chapter (2017), Chair of the National Member Services Committee (2018-2019), and National Southeast Region Vice President (2020-2021). He is a frequent speaker and panelist at industry events such as NARPM and IMN, sharing his insights and expertise.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bryan is a proud veteran, having honorably served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army.
